Welcome to the Blue Lake Christian Writers Retreat registration page! We look forward to serving you as you join us to learn more about writing. Please be sure to check out the different tabs on our home page to learn more about our faculty and the classes they’ll be teaching.

We offer a variety of housing options, so please be sure to check them out below before deciding which one is the best arrangement for you. Also, please note that this is a camp-type setting, so the center only supplies linens, towels, and a bar of soap. You’ll need to bring shampoo/conditioner, lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste, hair dryers, and any other toiletry-type items you need. There isn’t a store on site or nearby where you may purchase these.

The Commuter Full Conference Option: $225

This rate is for conferees who would like to commute from home or nearby. This rate does not include meals. It only covers your conference fee.

The Commuter Two-Day Option: $170

This rate is for conferees who would like to join us for two full days. This rate does not include meals. It only covers your conference fee for two days.

The Commuter One-Day Option: $90

This rate is for conferees who would like to come for one day. This rate does not include meals. It only covers your conference fee for one day.

The Oakwood Single Option: $350   Sold Out

This rate includes twin beds with shared hall bath (Wed., Thurs., Fri.)  Meals are included.  These rooms are conveniently located next to the dining room and chapel.

The Oakwood Double Option: $300  Sold Out

This rate includes shared room with twin beds and shared hall bath – $300 each person.  (Wed. Thurs., Fri.)  Meals are included.  These rooms are conveniently located near the dining room and chapel.

The Linwood Single Option: $495  Sold Out

The Linwood Single Two Day Option: $435  Sold Out

This rate includes a private room with a private bathroom in the Linwood section of Oakwood Lodge. Meals are included from Wednesday’s supper through to Saturday’s lunch. Two Day option includes either Wed/Thu or Thu/Fri.  Your conference fee is included. Limited Spaces Available.

The Linwood Double Option: $415  Sold Out

The Linwood Double Two Day Option: $335  Sold Out

This rate includes a double room with a private bathroom in the Linwood section of Oakwood Lodge.  This rate is per person.  Two Day option includes either Wed/Thu or Thu/Fri.  Meals are included from Wednesday’s supper through to Saturday’s lunch. Your conference fee is included.

*Please note: We are requiring two people to lodge in a double room. If you need help finding a roommate, please contact us and let us know. Should you require your own room, please see our Linwood Single Option.

Shuttle Service: $30

We will provide conferees with a shuttle to and from the airport. It will only run on TBD. The cost is $30 per person, round trip. Please contact us to RSVP for the shuttle and add your shuttle service in the form below. We will need to know your flight information and arrival/departure times.

PRE-CONFERENCE PROPOSAL WORKSHOP This class will show authors how to increase the sales of their books through savvy marketing techniques. Susan sold over 5000 copies of her book, 7 Steps to Get Off Sugar and Carbohydrates, in fourteen months. In this workshop, Susan will teach the strategies she used in the pre-publication foundation and post-publication marketing strategies, so your book sales will soar. Taught by Susan U. Neal.

Miscellaneous Information

Once you've registered, you'll begin receiving occasional updates about the retreat. We promise we won’t spam your inbox. We’ll only send these as needed.

 

a) Quiet hours are between 10:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. p.m. No amplified music after 10:30 p.m. is allowed in order to allow all guests time for rest.
b) Smoking not allowed inside buildings.
c) No pets are allowed in any of the facilities at Blue Lake United Methodist Assembly with the exception of service animals.
d) There will be no eating or drinking in chapels, sleeping areas or any undesignated eating areas. To maintain health standards, no food or beverage other than water is allowed in sleeping areas. Snacks and drinks must be stored securely when not in use.
e) Alabama fishing license required for fishing in Blue Lake.
f) Appropriate, modest dress is required.
g) You also agree to conduct yourself with professionalism, moral integrity, and behavior. Keeping with the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12) "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you," Please respect the rights of others.
