We are thrilled to have you join us and are excited to help foster your journey in writing. As you prepare to register, please explore our website to learn more about our distinguished faculty and the diverse classes they will be offering.

 

Accommodation Details

We provide a range of accommodation options to suit your preferences. Please review the descriptions below to choose the setting that best fits your needs. Keep in mind that our retreat offers a rustic, camp-like atmosphere. While linens, towels, and soap are provided, please remember to bring personal toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, and hair dryers, as these are not supplied.

Additionally, there are no stores within immediate proximity to purchase any forgotten items.

Linwood Single Room Package

Enjoy the comfort and privacy of a single room with its own bathroom located in the Linwood section of the lodge. This package covers all meals from Wednesday dinner to Saturday lunch. You can also choose a two-day option that includes meals for either Wednesday/Thursday or Thursday/Friday. Your conference registration fee is included in the rate. Please note that space is limited, so book early to secure your spot.

Linwood Double Room Package

Enjoy a shared double room with a private bathroom located in the lodge’s Linwood section. The rate, priced per person, is $595 and includes all meals from Wednesday’s dinner to Saturday’s lunch, as well as your conference fee. Choose between a two-day stay for either Wednesday/Thursday or Thursday/Friday.

Please note: Each double room must be shared by two guests. If you need assistance finding a roommate, do not hesitate to contact Susan Neal, the conference director, for help. If you prefer a private room, consider the Linwood Single or Oakwood Single options. Please note that space is limited, so book early to secure your spot.

Writing Retreat Only Package

If your idea of a perfect retreat is focusing solely on your writing without the distraction of attending conference sessions, our Writing Retreat Package is designed just for you. Enjoy the tranquility and inspiration of Blue Lake, with accommodations and meals, and access to general sessions only (no classes) from Wednesday to Sunday. This package does not allow you to purchase the downloadable recordings of the sessions. This package is perfect for writers seeking a peaceful environment to make significant progress on their projects, yet be able to share meals, worship, and listen to keynotes with colleagues. This package is available for one or two days or the whole conference.

Shuttle Service

We offer a convenient shuttle service for attendees traveling to and from Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida (VPS) or Pensacola (PNS) airports. The service is available for $35 round trip to and from the Destin-Fort Walton Beach airport and $50 round trip to and from the Pensacola airport. To reserve your spot on the shuttle, please provide your flight details, including arrival and departure times, using the form below. This ensures a smooth transfer to and from the conference.

VIP Lunches with Inspirational Keynotes

Enhance your conference experience with our exclusive VIP Lunches on Thursday and Friday. Enjoy a delicious meal in a private setting while gaining valuable insights from motivational keynotes. This interactive session will guide you through crafting a compelling one-page summary of your manuscript, an essential tool for selling your work to publishers and agents. You’ll leave with a professionally printed, color copy of your one-sheet, so you can pitch to industry professionals at the conference. Don’t miss this chance to elevate your pitch!

Making the Most of Your 15-Minute Appointment with Jane Daly (Wednesday 3–4 pm)
The moment of sitting down with an agent or editor can be nerve-wracking and intimidating. Fear not! With careful preparation, you will be able to confidently showcase your unique selling proposition to your dream agent. Together, we will deconstruct your big concept into a concise, attention-grabbing thirty second commercial, before expanding it into a compelling short pitch. This is your chance to shine!

Professional Headshots

Enhance your professional presence with a high-quality headshot! Faculty member Marci Seither will be offering her photography services at the conference. You will pay her directly by cash, check, or Venmo at the conference. Be sure to sign up upon arrival, as the schedule for headshot appointments will be available then. This is a great opportunity to update your professional image at a very reasonable price.

Living Waters Awards Contest

We are excited to announce the 2025 Living Water Writing Contest. This contest is open to all conference attendees for numerous categories giving you ample opportunity to showcase your work. It is thrilling to hear your name announced as the winner.

Since its inception in 2008, the Christian Indie Awards has recognized the exceptional contributions of independent authors and small publishers to Christian literature.
